The Rub n' Scrape Rake
At first glance you may think the Rub n' Scrape Rake is just your typical garden rake. But, you couldn't be more wrong. We designed this rake based off your average garden rake, but we wanted more features that were tailored to the use we needed them for in the woods. All of us use a typical rake to create open dirt areas under licking branches for scrapes. Most of your garden rakes that are durable enough to last though, tend to be extra long or bulky. So we kept he stainless steel design but kept it compact enough to pack.
The true reason we wanted to make this rake though, is for those crazy looking teeth on the end. We LOVE setting rub posts and rub trees, they are one of the most successful strategies we have found for consistent daylight bucks in season. Whenever we set a rub post though, we try to pull some of the bark back on the tree and scrape it up to let the scent soak into the wood as well as make the rub look like it's already being used. It took us 15+ minutes to get the trees scraped up well enough. With the Rub n' Scrape Rake teeth, I can get my rub posts tore up in a few minutes.
If you are wondering if it's necessary to take the extra step of scraping bark off the tree you are wanting to use as a rub tree, we have tested it for years now. Rub trees that we do not scrape bark off of, bucks typically take 3-4 weeks longer to start hitting it consistently. When we do scrape the bark off, we typically see bucks start using the rubs in half the time and consistently use them over and over again.
